  • Alexandra Yorke is one of a few trusted clairvoyants working with police on murder cases, but she has a secret. She isn't a clairvoyant, she's a witch unlike any other she has ever met. For years she has struggled to control her gifts, but years living inside one serial killer's head after another has taken its toll, and Alex has reached the end of the road.
  • Barely able to control her gifts any longer, Alex retreats from the world to live at her grandparents farm where she grew up. Seclusion is her answer, but the world will not leave her alone.
  • A few months of peace is all she has before a friend calls her in need of help and Alex can't say no. A body has been found, and evidence points to a connection with witches. Who is it that everyone just knows is a witch? Why, that strange woman who just moved back from the big city of course.
  • What a coincidence!

    Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Rune Gate to be better than the print version?
I definitely prefer the audio because it brings the story and characters to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?
This is hard because I loved all the characters but I think Douglas wins by a fraction. He is such a charmer.

What does Mikael Naramore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He brings his voice! I loved how his tone and accent changed for each character and while, at first, I did think it odd that a male was voicing a female MC, Mikael really pulls it off. There are way more male characters than female ones so it made sense to have a male voice. I was really impressed by his range of accents.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No because I knew it was too long to listen to in one sitting. I did look forward to jumping back into the world the author has created though and I was eager to see what happens next.

    Any additional comments?
I'm so glad I got the chance to listen to this story. While reading it would of been good, listening to it was better. The story really came to life and I loved experiencing it along with the characters. The story is shrouded in mystery and when it comes together, it really surprised me because I wasn't expecting Douglas or where he came from. I expected a witchy read but this surpasses that.
Mark E Cooper put a lot into his story and it shows. His characters are all well developed and the plot is fast paced. The story drew me in and I really can't wait to see what happens next. This is one I'd definitely recommend you listen to both for the story and the narrators voice. It's an enjoyable and fairly quick read.

    Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Chosen to be better than the print version?
Yes. Mikael Naramore adds that something special to the story and brings it to life.

What other book might you compare Chosen to and why?
I don't compare books to other books because every book is different.

Have you listened to any of Mikael Naramore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes I have and he does an amazing job on Chosen just like his other books. His voice is very crisp and concise and really easy to listen to. He changes his tone to match the situation and has a melee of different accents.

    Any additional comments?
Once again Mark E Cooper delivers a great read. In this edition of the Rune Gate Cycle the guys are stranded in Douglas world and need to adapt to survive. There is magic, mayhem, action, adventure, fights, deception and more than enough of everything to keep you reading. Chosen for me was the best book in the series yet and it was made even better by the audio book.

I could feel the tension and it was like I was apart of the story while listening to the book. I loved that there are more characters and I loved Alexs' Chosen. That cat was awesome!!

I can not wait to read more in this awesome series and would highly recommend the audio edition.

    Story
Where does Elusion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I think it ranks somewhere in the middle. It's a fast paced and enjoyable read.

What did you like best about this story?
The action! It was pretty much non stop.

What does Andrea Emmes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She really brings the story and Melanie alive. Her voice is so easy to listen to and she brings you into the story.

    Any additional comments?
Elusion was quite a surprise. I hadn't heard of it before but when I read the blurb I was sufficiently intrigued.
When Melanie was young, her life was changed forever. Her parents were savagely taken away and her mother was shot in front of her. All Melanie has known is the life she leads with Apollo as the leader. Apollo promises that when you are of age you get a chance to go and live in a place called Paradise. It's all everyone strives for. Paradise is supposed to be, well, Paradise but Melanie knows differently. She got a letter from her brother to say that it isn't all it's cracked up to be and Melanie has to everything she has to NOT to be chosen. Yet despite her trying to keep a low profile, she ends up being chosen to go. Now her only option is to try to escape and get to the badlands.
I really liked Melanie. She is such a strong, no nonsense girl and isnt afraid to do what's needed. She has a tough time but knows that she has no choice but to keep going.
The plot was really fast paced and action packed. We have everything from genetically altered wolves to cannibals that Melanie has to face!! It was thoroughly enjoyable and the audio even more!! I can't wait to read more in this series and would recommend the audio to everyone.
